Komen Walk

We did the Komen Walk again this year as part of Team LoLo. Lois was an amazing woman and we are proud to walk in her honor. I was so proud of Delaney who walked almost the entire route!

13. Green Meadows Farm

Green Meadows Farm was another new adventure for us this year. It was a little bit of a haul for us but definitely worth the drive. The farm had a lot for the kids to do and we ended up spending quite a bit of time there. What was nice was that you could pet, feed, and even hold many of the animals. The admission fee included a pony ride. This was Delaney's (and Nolan's) first time riding a pony! Her pony's name was Champ.
We weren't expecting Nolan to take a ride too but one of the workers asked if we wanted to put Nolan on the pony. It was beyond adorable to see him ride around like a big boy. His pony was named Oreo.
The chicken coop was neat. The chicken in the box next to Nolan in the picture was sitting on an egg.
The kitty barn was a favorite.
You could milk a cow if you wanted. She was super easy going to allow all kinds of strangers to milk her.
Delaney gave it a try and did pretty well.
Delaney got a huge kick out of riding the tire swing horse.
Nolan liked it too!

4. Art Museum

We just love the art museum. On this visit the Kohl's Art Generation Gallery featured artist Frank Lloyd Wright. The kids were able to use various blocks to create sculptures, buildings or whatever their little hearts decided.
This is what Delaney came up with:
We also spent some time in the Studio. The art projects are so well thought out and the "teachers" are always so nice. Delaney made a paper lantern on this visit. We look forward to our next visit!

Festival

We went to a local festival tonight to walk around. Little girl got a chance to ride a rollercoaster for the first time. It was just her size and she wasn't scared at all. It's amazing to see how much her confidence has grown this summer. She's definitely more outgoing and eager to try new things. She loved, loved, loved this ride!

39. Flashlight Walk

The kids got to stay up a little later than usual so that we could go on a flashlight walk. Flashlight walks are a camping tradition but I thought it would be fun to try one around our neighborhood.

7. Paddleboats

We headed downtown to try paddleboating (is that a word?) today. Anyway, it was a new adventure for all of us. Delaney liked steering the boat and got pretty good at it during the half hour we were out. Nolan tolerated the ride. Luckily I had packed a large snack to keep him happy.

29. Family Bike Ride

We went on a bike ride around the neighborhood tonight. Delaney is still getting to know her new ride so I walked beside her instead of riding my bike. It was nice to see her gain confidence as we went along.
